Our Single Vineyard ‘Tallavera’ Shiraz comes from its namesake vineyard in the Mount View area of the lower Hunter Valley. A complex mix of spice, earth and ripe mulberry fruit integrated well with savoury oak. The palate is medium bodied and fruit driven displaying sweet berry fruit balanced by fine tannins providing great texture and a classically elegant finish.
Aged Tasting Note
Sixteen years on and this one has settled into exactly what a great Hunter Shiraz should become. The mulberry and spice are still there but softer now, joined by savoury earth and a gentle leathery note that only comes with real bottle age. The tannins have turned fine and the finish stays classically elegant rather than powerful. A Halliday 95 and a shelf of silver and gold medals confirm what the glass already tells you."
"Sixteen years in the cellar and it's only just hitting its stride. Pour it for someone who'll actually notice the difference age makes."
