For thirty years, Pepper Tree has been a beacon for quality wine in the heart of Hunter wine country. Founded in 1991, it continues to flourish as one of the stalwart wine companies of the region.
Pepper Tree started with a focus on grapes from the Hunter Valley but today, the roots run deep for owner John Davis, with vineyard sites in four premium wine growing regions across Australia.
Our Commitment to the four regions in which John Davis has invested so much of his time and expertise in are the driving force behind all we do. The Hunter Valley represents us but the roots of the tree spread through all four regions. You could say it’s the best of four worlds.
Vigneron and Owner, John Davis saw the potential of the Hunter Valley and continued to find other sites to complement his prized vineyards. Due to his Geology background he sought the perfect soils to grow grapes. Orange in New South Wales, as well as Coonawarra and Wrattonbully in the Limestone coast complemented his prized vineyard assets ensuring there are premium grapes from four diverse regions.
Pepper Tree runs its own dedicated marketing, sales and export teams, allowing us to deal directly with our consumers. This practise along with our vineyards and the passion and expertise of our team is what makes Pepper Tree Wines what it is today.
Pepper Tree is pleased to announce that ex-winemaker Jim Chatto is to return as consultant Winemaker for the brand.
Chatto who was awarded GT Wine’s Winemaker of the Year in 2019 worked at Pepper Tree from 2007-2014 and amassed an amazing reputation as well as countless awards for the wines made during his tenure.
