Our Single Vineyard ‘Tallavera’ Shiraz comes from its namesake vineyard in the Mount View area of the lower Hunter Valley. A complex mix of spice, earth and ripe mulberry fruit integrated well with savoury oak. The palate is medium bodied and fruit driven displaying sweet berry fruit balanced by fine tannins providing great texture and a classically elegant finish.
Aged Tasting Notes
2011 was a leaner, more precise year in the Hunter, and that character has held all the way through. Real cellar age has brought out tarry, smoky mineral notes alongside the mulberry, with the fine tannins and lively acid line keeping everything taut rather than soft. Less about power, more about precision, this is Tallavera at its most restrained and elegant."
"A quiet dinner, good company, nothing to prove. Pour it and let the conversation slow right down."
