2009 Museum Calcare Cabernet Sauvignon

2009 Museum Calcare Cabernet Sauvignon

2009 was a slow, patient vintage in Coonawarra. Naturally low yields and a long, even ripening season gave the Cabernet deep colour, concentrated dark fruit and the fine boned structure the region is famous for. Cassis and blackcurrant sit at the core, framed by cedar and the savoury edge that comes from terra rossa over the limestone that gives Calcare its name.

Aged Tasting Note
With well over a decade in the bottle, the tannins have softened and folded into the fruit, and layers of tobacco leaf, dried herbs and earth have emerged around that dark berry core. Rated 94 points by Halliday, this is Coonawarra Cabernet in its optimum drinking window. The cellaring has been done for you, in our cellars, under perfect conditions.

Scene
"The night you cook the good steak at home instead of booking the restaurant. Wines like this usually mean years in your own cellar first. This one arrives ready to go."
