PTW CLAIMS TWO TROPHIES AT LIMESTONE COAT WINE SHOW

Pepper Tree Wines has been awarded two trophies at the 2011 Limestone Coast Wine Show.

Results of the Limestone Coast Wine Show were announced last night at the Trophy Presentation Feast, where Pepper Tree Wines was presented with a trophy for the ‘Best Shiraz’ for the 2009 The Gravels Reserve Wrattonbully Shiraz Viognier and ‘Best Individual Vineyard Wine’ for the 2009 Elderslee Road Reserve Wrattonbully Cabernet Sauvignon.

Jim Chatto has been certainly making head waves throughout the wine industry this month. Taking out the title of ‘Semillon of the Year’ with the 2011 Alluvius Reserve Hunter Valley Semillon in Nick Stocks Good Wine Guide as well as being appointed as Chairman of judges at the Hunter Valley Wine Show.

“We have some great wines coming through, not only in the Hunter Valley, but also from our other regional vineyards in Orange, Wrattonbully and Coonawarra. It’s lovely to be awarded our 1st trophy(s) at the Limestone Coast Wine Show, since starting at Pepper Tree. Both our South Australian vineyards, play an important role in Pepper Tree’s portfolio – vindication of our work done there.”

Pepper Tree Wines prides itself on their hand selected single vineyards in four of Australia’s prominent wine growing regions. Pete Balnaves and his team do an exceptional job in maintaining our vineyards in both Wrattonbully and Coonawarra to reflect the quality of wine which is produced each year. 

Pepper Tree winery has been established since 1991, and is owned by former Geologist Dr John Davis, who has pursued his viticultural passion for nearly 30 years.
